About the Caribbean islands
Sailing
Why not round off the perfect holiday by taking a trip on a skippered yacht for a few days. Our skippers have enormous experience of sailing in the Caribbean and can take you to those uninhabited islands and Cays where you can be sure to get away from it all. Some boats carry diving equipment and all carry snorkelling equipment, so a visit to the Tobago Cays in The Grenadines or the coral reefs around Mustique, is strongly recommended.
The British Virgin Islands are particularly beautiful and amongst the world's finest cruising grounds with the least exploited diving and snorkelling sites. The area offers endless possibilities and fabulous sailing. Anchor off the many reefs and enter into a world of incredible under-water life.
For the keen sailor, there are yearly Regattas on many islands, which are great fun and the apres sail parties are memorable.
There are excellent cooks on board who are well able to cater for all palettes and to all tastes, so only pocket money is required for the odd trip ashore (see individual yacht details for any extra charges). Incidentally, on some boats you will be expected to treat the crew to one meal ashore during your trip but don't worry, prices are usually very reasonable. Government Cruising Taxes and National Parks permits are necessary in the B.V.I., please see individual yacht descriptions as to whether costs are included in the price. (Skippers will organise these on your behalf). On most boats tips/gratuities are expected, this amount can vary between 10% and 15%.
Most of our yachts may be chartered for any length of time, from one or two days, to two or three weeks, so forget about your thick sweaters and waterproofs, gather up your swimming togs and T shirts and go sailing!
