Trinidad
Trinidad is almost certainly the most affluent island in the Caribbean thanks to its petroleum and gas industry. Characteristics
Friendly and informal, exceedingly busy, particularly in the urban areas. The local population is comprised of very mixed ethnic origin, including African, Indian, Persian, Chinese and British.
Beaches
Gorgeous! - sandy beaches along the north coast provide the perfect atmosphere for seclusion, rest and recreation. The east coast is home to protected wetlands and miles of beach frontage lined with groves of coconut palms, known to locals as the ‘Cocal'.

Most forms of sport. Sailing, diving, snorkelling, swimming, walking, bird watching, golf and riding.
Shopping
Just about everything is available on this island as there are shops galore. Lots of roadside stalls selling a fantastic range of fruit and vegetables along with souvenirs and tourist paraphernalia associated with the Caribbean.
Restaurants & Nightlife
Excellent selection of restaurants with cuisine from all over the world. Home of the world's most famous carnival. Nightlife is more or less the national pastime in Trinidad, so opportunities can be found just about everywhere but particularly in Port of Spain.

Plenty of taxis, vehicle rental companies and buses.
Getting There
Trinidad's Piarco International Airport handles flights from around the world. There is a shuttle service to Tobago and regional flights throughout the Caribbean.
