Yes, we do have a namesake in the Caribbean, Toad Hall is quite simply the most unique and romantic house on Virgin Gorda, which in turn is one of 'natures little secrets', exquisite, serene and tranquil. Visitors remark that they were unprepared for the beauty of the experience, that neither words nor pictures do it justice. It is difficult to convey the charm of living so intimately with bird song and breeze, flower fragrances and dappled sun, or moonlit swims in the pool cave. There is a wonderful energy and essence here that takes 'vacation' into the realms of genuine renewal and is an unparalleled experience of living in harmony with nature.
Situated in an exceedingly private and secluded spot, set among the magnificent boulders above the renowned Baths, stands Toad Hall, a six acre oasis of natural beauty and eco-sensitive design evolving out of the landscape. This amazing and unusual home is actually several separate timber constructed buildings connected by fabulous natural gardens and meandering stone paths. The Baths beach is a short walk away via a private trail and the swimming pool has its own Baths-like cave.
Accommodation
Enormous, fascinating indoor/outdoor Grand Hall with cobblestone floor, cleverly and very interestingly furnished in a mixture of both rustic and classic antiques, plus some semi-modern pieces and also not forgetting Uncle Arthur. The sitting area is nearest the swimming pool and has cane chairs and a large coffee table, plus a hammock. Games/leisure area with chess board, books and board games. Dining area with large refectory table and 8 chairs, (ideal for banquets)! Uncle Arthur stands in the centre of the room supported by a large pillar and is in fact an original Victorian copy of a suit of armour! The kitchen is at one end of the room and is part of, though completely separated from the main hall by a breakfast bar. It is fitted with painted wooden cupboards and is very well equipped with a gas hob, eye level double oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, food processor, fridge/freezer (stocked with basic provisions on arrival, along with the bar) and a further fridge outside.
Very spacious bedroom with King-size bed, chaise-longe type of sofa and chair, very interesting en-suite bathroom with spa bath, separate shower, basin set into large vanity unit, bidet, WC and floor to ceiling insect screens covered with trailing plants round three sides of the room.
Separate unit approximately 15 yards from the main building, with equally spacious double bedroom with King-size four poster bed with drapes, comfy chair and en-suite shower-room with semi-outdoor shower surrounded by trellis, basin, bidet and WC.
Further separate unit equal in size to the double rooms, with twin beds that can be arranged to form a King-size double bed and en- suite shower room as previously described.
There is another small building approximately 40 yards from the main hall with two single beds, suitable mainly for older children, (no bathroom).
Outside
Six acres of amazing, extremely private gardens and grounds, with plants, shrubs and trees in abundance, plus numerous granite boulders of varying shape and size from enormous to very small. Cleverly positioned and designed swimming pool, with additional children's pool, sun bathing area with sun-beds, plus shaded areas with tables and chairs. There is also an outdoor shower.
Staff Daily maid service.
Beach One mile on foot only.

Restaurant and Bars 2 restaurants and bars within mile.
Car Hire Recommended.
