St. Martin
Similar to many of the Caribbean islands, Saint-Martin is characteristically volcanic and mountainous. However it is blessed with some wonderful white sandy beaches and is unique in that is shared between the governments of France and Holland. The North part is called St Martin and is French administered whilst the Southern part is called Sint Maarten and is Dutch administered. It is actually the smallest territory in the world where two foreign powers co-exist amicably.
